New Twist on Tax on Shipping

I just learned this today and thought I would share this tidbit....

Shipping is not taxable when the shipment becomes the property of the buyer at the time it leaves the loading dock. That means that the buyer is responsible for any damage en route. Filing for insurance relief is the buyer's responsibility and is a very time consuming frustration.

Shipping is taxable in most states when the shipment remains the property of the shipper until it is received. That means that Longaberger owns the shipment until the hostess receives it. Any damage or shortage is the responsibility of the Longaberger Company. Consultants can file adjustments to get problems taken care of, on behalf of the hostess. Infinitely more convenient for our customers. This is the most customer friendly system.

Tax on shipping is a small price to pay for such convenience.

Thanks to Denise Swyers for sharing!
